Since 1997 I have lived and worked at the Pigeon Point Lighthouse in Pescadero, California. I have been taking photographs and making movies since I was a kid. I grew up in the Bay Area and I graduated from the University of California at Santa Cruz and have a BA in Cultural Anthropology. I manage a non-profit international hostel now
http://www.pigeonpointhostel.org, but from 1997 to 2003 I was a naturalist at the Pigeon Point Environmental Education Program
http://www.exploringnewhorizons.org/site/pigeon-point/) where I taught school children at Pigeon Point, Ano Nuevo State Reserve and Memorial County Park the natural history of Northern Elephant Seals, California Gray Whales, inter-tidal ecology, redwood forest ecology and local maritime history. I was for a few years an employee at the Pigeon Point Light Station State Historic Park
http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=533 where I helped the docents. I also volunteered for 6 years as a naturalist and docent at Ano Nuevo State Reserve and Ranch Del Oso (Waddell Creek) State Park.
My personal passion is surfing but artistically I really enjoy kite aerial photography with a fish-eye 360 degree lens! I also shoot landscapes with Nikon Digital SLR. I recently visited Brittany and Normandy in France with my father who taught me architectural photography inside French Gothic cathedrals. See
