SCAC at Glacier Point, Yosemite. August 26 & 27th, 2016.

Yosemite National Park hosts amateur astronomy clubs every weekend in the summer at Glacier Point. Clubs dates are chosen by lottery and we got a spectacular moonless nights with mild crowds.

Part of a world wide event at Hostelling International called Sleep for Peace to celebrate the International Day of Peace 9/21. This was a dry run for a larger event with some members of the Santa Cruz Astronomy Club on Saturday 9/24/16 from 7-10:30pm. #sleepforpeace #peaceday #darksky

CalStar, Whisper Canyon Campgrounds, 9/28,30,10/1/2016

2016 CalStar star party time-lapses over three nights. Each photo is 20 second exposure at f/3.2 and 3200 ISO on a 15mm fisheye. shot every 25 seconds. Time-lapse is 24 frames per second and cropped to 16x9. 3rd segment was shot on 10/1 and shows a large green fireball light up behind my telescope and the following smoke drifts up and to the south after burning up in the atmosphere.

Shot at the Pinnacles west end visitors center. Nikon D810, Sigma 15mm, 20 sec, f/3.2, ISO 2500. Shot every 25 seconds with 605 images and playback is 24fps.
